Lexington couple robbed at gunpoint outside their home
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Lexington couple was arriving at their apartment and about to walk in as two men approached them with guns, including an AK-47, early Saturday.
The man and woman told police it happened around 3:15 a.m. on Alexandria Drive as they were about to enter their apartment.
According to police, that’s when two men approached them demanding money.
One of them was believed to be holding a handgun. The other appeared to have an AK-47, according to the victims’ accounts.
Police say the suspects grabbed the couple’s cell phones and money before taking off.
The couple was not hurt.
