Lexington collision leads to DUI arrest

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington Police say a man was arrested for DUI after causing a wreck that temporarily closed down the outer look of New Circle Road just past Newtown Pike on Friday night.

Investigators say the driver of a pickup truck hit the median divider and collided with a car. Initially it was reported at the scene that a man had been hit by vehicle because the driver of the pickup got out and laid down in the road, according to police.

That man, whose name wasn’t immediately available, was arrested for DUI, according to police.

The collision happened shortly after 8:00 p.m. A stretch of the outer loop of New Circle Road was closed for about 45-minutes, according to police. The road was reopened around 9:00 p.m.

Police say the people involved in the collision suffered minor injuries.
