Lexington coffee shop targeted again, but local dads turn Father’s Day damage into cleanup teamwork

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — It wasn’t the Father’s Day surprise anyone wanted—another broken window at A Cup of Common Wealth. But thanks to a group of dads and friends, the aftermath turned into a community effort.

The incident happened Sunday at the downtown Lexington coffee shop. After discovering the shattered window, friends and local fathers showed up with brooms, trash cans, and good humor to help with the cleanup.

They followed what’s sadly become a familiar routine: call police, tape off the damage, find plywood, and sweep up the glass.

Staff and supporters say they’ve gotten the process down to a science—but they’re still holding out hope that break-ins like this become less common.
