Lexington church hosts ‘Back to School Bash’

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – No matter whether kids return to class in-person or virtually, they’ll need supplies. A Lexington pastor is trying to make the back to school process easier.

Growth Point pastor Mario Radford hosted a movie night and back to school bash Saturday and gave out 50 book bags.

A crowd of about 75 people celebrated by watching Sonic the Hedgehog.

As a parent, Radford says he knows how important it is to be just as a prepared at home as it is at school, and he wants to remind parents they aren’t alone.

“We’re going to get through this together as a family, as a community, as a state and as a nation,” says Radford.

Radford says last semester he found giving his kid a recess helped. He suggests parents do the same and take a load off.
