Lexington church celebrates 250th anniversary
LEXINGTON, KY. (WTVQ)- It was a special day for a Lexington church Sunday.
The South Elkhorn Christian Church celebrated the 250th anniversary of the founding of the congregation Sunday.
As part of the ceremony, a Bluegrass Trust plaque was unveiled after regular Sunday services.
The congregation is one of the oldest continuously operation institutions of any kind in Central Kentucky, founded 25 years before Kentucky even became a state.
