Lexington 9-11 Memorial Service
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) — This morning, the Lexington Fire Department Honor Guard and LPD Color Guard held a memorial service to honor the New York Firefighters and police Officers who gave their lives on that fateful day.
The Honor Guard and Color Guard placed a wreath in Phoenix Park, between the Lexington Fallen Firefighter and Lexington Fallen Police Officer memorials.
“Despite the tragedy of September 11, 2001, there were also examples of Bravery and Service”, said Assistant Chief Christopher Sweat of the Lexington Fire Department. “Firefighters nationwide are proud and inspired by these selfless acts, and this is one of the ways we honor their sacrifices.”
