Legendary Kentucky high school coach dies

MANCHESTER, Ky. (WTVQ) – Former Clay County boys basketball coach Bobby Keith died on Wednesday of an apparent heart attack, according to the Clay County coroner. He was 75-years old.

Keith coached the Tigers for 29-seasons, compiling a record of 767-125, which ranks fifth on the state’s all-time wins list.

During his remarkable career at Clay County, his teams won more than a dozen regional championships, played in three Sweet 16 title games in the mid to late 1980’s, which included a state championship in 1987.

He retired from coaching in 1999.

Funeral arrangements were not immediately available.
