LCSO: Inmate walks away from work release detail

LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The search is on for a Laurel County inmate who walked away from a work release detail on Wednesday, according to the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies say 36-year old Melvin Haggard, of London, was last seen off KY 472 (Johnson Road), 11 miles east of London, around 1:40 p.m.

He is described as 5’11”, 205 pounds with brown hair above the ear, medium build, medium complexion, blue eyes with a goatee. He was wearing a detention center jumpsuit, according to deputies.
