Lawrenceburg celebrates community with second Food Truck Friday
LAWRENCEBURG, Ky. (WTVQ) – A small Kentucky town is showing its big spirit.
Friday, Lawrenceburg hosted its second Food Truck Friday of the year. The event featured food trucks from Lawrenceburg restaurants as well as from the surrounding area.
For Amildo Garcia, owner of Taqueria Garcia, it’s all about building a sense of small-town community.
“Actually I live here in Lawrenceburg, and we’re trying to do something local, trying to help and support our town–that is the main thing here–and so far it’s been awesome,” said Garcia.
For residents in Anderson County, it’s a way to enjoy what Lawrenceburg has to offer among family and friends.
“We’re a small town here in Anderson County, and so it’s just a way for a lot of people to come together to eat some really good food,” said Lawrenceburg resident Morgan Cubert.
The town typically expects about 2,000 people to attend their Food Truck Friday events, which happen monthly during the summer. Friday’s event also included a performance from country musician Grayson Jenkins.
