Laurel Sheriff: Getaway Driver Arrested in Scrap Metal Theft
The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office said Victoria E. Farris, 19, of London, was arrested Tuesday in connection to an attempted scrap metal theft.
Investigators said Farris was the getaway car driver who was waiting for the two men accused of trying to steal scrap metal from Pig Brown’s Salvage Yard on McWhorter Road, three-miles east of London.
The Sheriff’s Office said the theft suspects were identified as Prentice Buckles, 29, of East Bernstadt, and Shane Wombles, 23, of London.
Investigators said the two men ran from the scene when authorities pulled up during the reported theft.
The two men are still at-large.
Investigators said a pile of aluminum and metal was found stacked up close to the car Farris was in, ready to be loaded into the vehicle.
Farris was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
