Laurel County Sheriff’s Office investigating shots fired case

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office reports an investigation into numerous shots fired into an apartment.

The shots were fired Saturday night, but not discovered until Sunday morning by the residents.

This happened off County Farm Road, which is about a mile west of London.

The 2 residents of the apartment found the bullet holes in the walls around 7:16 AM Sunday and called the Sheriff’s Office.

On scene, detectives found six bullet holes in the wall.

Shots had been fired through the apartment front wall and traveled through other walls inside the apartment.

Some of the rounds lodged into other walls and at least one round was found lodged in a recliner that was in close proximity to one of the residents.

Investigators have determined that the weapon used is a .380 caliber.

The two residents were inside the apartment at the time when the shots were fired; neither were injured.

Investigators are following up on several leads as the investigation continues.
