Laurel County man indicted for murder in neglect case

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – A grand jury has indicted a Laurel County man for murder.

Laurel County Circuit Court says the indictment against 53-year-old Larry Dean Hensley was handed down Friday.

Hensley was originally charged with knowingly abusing or neglecting an adult back in February after police were called to the home of Lue Faye Hensley for a welfare check.

According to the Sentinel-Echo, Lue Faye Hensley is Larry Hensley’s mother, and she died a month later from what the coroner says was death by homicide due to neglect.

Hensley was released on bond.

He did not appear at the indictment Friday.

Kentucky State Police say they will search for Hensley as soon as they get a copy of the murder indictment.
