Laurel County Man Charged With Animal Cruelty
Laurel County’s sheriff said deputies arrested 66-year-old Sherman Jones of London on Saturday afternoon.
Deputies were dispatched to a complaint of an injured animal not being properly cared for. During his investigation he learned that the owner of a young cow, Sherman Jones, allegedly allowed the cow to lay in a ditch, injured and unable to walk or stand for three days with no treatment, minimal food, no water and temperatures dropping at night to below freezing.
Deputies said Sherman failed to contact a vet having ample time and opportunity to do so.
Sherman Jones was charged with cruelty to animals – second degree; and disorderly conduct – second degree and was lodged in the Laurel County detention Center.
