Laurel County man arrested, woman still wanted after motel incident

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – One suspect is in custody, but deputies are still searching for a second person after an incident at a Southern Laurel County motel.

The sheriff’s office says 37-year-old Darnell Yarbrough of Detroit was arrested after allegedly shattering a motel room window Friday and fleeing in a white Ford Focus — nearly hitting someone in the parking lot.

Yarbrough was later picked up by London City Police on unrelated charges and turned over to Laurel County deputies. He now faces criminal mischief and wanton endangerment charges and remains in the Laurel County Detention Center.

Deputies are still looking for Lissa Marie Shepard in connection to the case. Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to contact the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office.
