Laurel County man arrested on drug trafficking charges

LONDON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — A Laurel County man is facing drug trafficking charges after deputies say he tried to flush meth down the toilet during a bust at his home.

According to the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office, 35-year-old Timothy Hampton was arrested Tuesday at his residence on Newt’s Way, just west of London.

Deputies say they found about six and a half ounces of methamphetamine, along with glass pipes and digital scales inside the home. Investigators allege Hampton attempted to destroy the drugs by flushing them before he was taken into custody.
