Laurel County man arrested for large amount of meth

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- KSP and the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office arrest a man for drug possession after a month long investigation.

41 year-old Elvis Presley Proffitt of Norwood Dr., East Bernstadt was arrested Tuesday afternoon for possession of a large quantity of crystal meth.

Kentucky State Police Drug Interdiction Team, in cooperation with the London office of the DEA, conducted a planned traffic stop on I-75 and discovered meth in a vehicle taking Profitt into custody.

A search warrant was executed on Tuesday evening for Proffitt’s residence on Norwood Drive.

More crystal meth and drug paraphernalia were located there with the assistance of a K-9 officer.

Proffitt is facing drug trafficking charges in federal court.

The investigation continues.
