Laurel County father faces child abuse charges

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – In Laurel County, a father faces child abuse charges after his two-year-old had a drug overdose.

Joshua Smith was arrested Friday night, his daughter flown to UK hospital.

The Sheriff’s office says the two-year-old took almost 20 Ativan pills while her father was supposed to be watching her.

Those pills are used for patients with seizures.
