Laurel County couple arrested for murder of wife’s mother
LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) — Police in Laurel County have arrested a married couple for the murder of the wife’s mother, after they say the two stabbed her to death and tried to cover up the crime.
According to arrest citations, Joseph and Christie McFadden were arrested just after midnight on Tuesday for the murder of Sherry Rose, who is Christie McFadden’s mother.
According to police, the two stabbed Rose to death following an argument.
They say the two bought bleach, ammonia, and mops to clean up the crime scene.
According to police, the couple also withdrew $500 from Rose’s bank account.
Police say the couple took Rose’s body to a remote area of Laurel County, where two other people then took the body and disposed of it in Clay County.
Police have identified those two men as Michael and Kody Hinkle.
Police are still investigating the identities of those two people.
