UPDATE: Laurel Co. Animal Shelter still needs help with rescued dogs

LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) –  The Laurel Co. Animal Shelter has some good news after they took in 29 dogs last week, even though the shelter was almost at capacity.

The shelter now says all of the rottweilers have been adopted or taken in by rescue groups.  They also say, however, that there are 10 more dogs that need a home.  Some of the small dogs still need to be adopted or the shelter will have to start euthanizing. The shelter also says they need transports from London to Lexington and from Lexington to Cincinnati.

The shelter hopes there will still be time to adopt the remaining dogs out today.  If you are interested in adopting, you can find more information on their facebook page.

LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Laurel County Animal Shelter is struggling after it took in nearly 30 extra dogs.

The Sheriff’s Office rescued 29 dogs Thursday afternoon from a woman who says she couldn’t take care of them all.

The shelter can hold 35 animals and it was already at capacity before the additional dogs were rescued.

Volunteers say some of the dogs may have to be put to sleep because there isn’t enough room.

The shelter will be open from ten until two on Saturday.

Volunteers say they are also collecting donations of money and supplies.

Some rescue groups are also helping to take care of some of the dogs.
