Laurel Co. mother arrested in meth incident

LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Laurel County mother is in custody, accused of having her two-year-old in a house where meth was being smoked.

Investigators say Anna Burdette, of London, did not do enough to protect her child.  She is charged with criminal abuse.

Deputies were called to Burdette’s home last week for a disturbance complaint, and say they found meth.

Her husband, Benjamin Burdette – who is also the child’s father, was arrested and charged with wanton endangerment and animal cruelty.

He’s accused of feeding meth to his neighbors’ two dogs.  Both dogs died.

Deputies say tests were done to see if the baby had ingested drugs.  Investigators are waiting on the results.

They say a relative is taking care of the child.
