Laurel Co. Man Accused of Raping 13-Year-Old

LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Laurel County Sheriff says a man has been accused of rape, and that the victim’s mother tried to extort money from the accused.

35-year-old Michael Lester is accused of having sexual contact with a 13-year-old girl, at least three times.

The girl’s mother is accused of trying to extort money from Lester, in exchange for making the evidence disappear.

ABC 36 is not identifying the mother to protect the identity of the victim.
