Laurel Co. hit-and-run leads to three arrests

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office reports a hit-and-run led to three individual arrests Friday morning.

The suspect vehicle hit a mail carrier vehicle on Appaloosa Trail and fled the scene, the office says. They say the vehicle was driven by 27-year-old Christie McFadden of Corbin.

The office reports Deputy Keith Dinsmore found the vehicle hidden behind a mobile home more than a mile away from the collision location. He was then called back to the location — the suspect had returned back to the scene, according to officials.

Deputies say on Dinsmore’s way back, he met a vehicle driven by the suspect’s husband, 31-year-old Joseph McFadden. The deputy tried to conduct a traffic stop; however, the vehicle fled to a mobile home on Appaloosa Trail, according to a release.

The release states when Dinsmore arrived at the mobile home he found Joseph McFadden hiding in a bathroom. Officials say the homeowner, 59-year-old Arlis Rose, was also home and was found to have outstanding warrants and in possession of drug paraphernalia.

Dinsmore arrested all three. While taking them into custody, Joseph McFadden fled the scene on foot. He was later found with the help of deputies and detectives hiding under a front porch to a mobile home off American Greeting Card Road. This is all according to the sheriff’s office’s release.

Both McFaddens and Rose are being held at the Laurel County Detention Facility.
