Large Drug Bust Nets Conviction of 2 Louisville Men

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) – Two Louisville residents have admitted their roles in a heroin and methamphetamine distribution operation.

Federal prosecutors say 39-year-old Oscar Portillo and 24-year-old Jose Luis Madrigal II pleaded guilty to multiple drug charges recently in federal court in Louisville.

According to a criminal complaint, officers with a search warrant seized 3.2 kilograms of heroin, 5.3 kilograms of methamphetamine, $110,000 in cash and weapons in October 2015 from a Louisville tire warehouse where the men lived. The heroin was packaged for distribution.

Portillo and Madrigal are scheduled to be sentenced March 6.
