Lansdowne Dairy Queen reopens after car crashes into it
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — The Dairy Queen on Lansdowne Drive has reopened after a car crashed into the restaurant Tuesday evening, prompting a temporary closure by city inspectors and the health department.
According to Dairy Queen, the vehicle struck the bathroom area around 6:15 p.m., causing minor damage to the exterior and a wall inside. The Lexington Fire Department responded to the scene, and officials say the driver declined medical treatment.
Health and city inspectors cleared the restaurant to reopen after confirming there were no food safety issues. One restroom remains closed for repairs, while the other will now serve as a gender-neutral bathroom.
The incident did not affect dining or kitchen areas, and the restaurant is back to full service.
