Langley man killed in Knott County crash after vehicle leaves KY-80
LEBURN, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Kentucky State Police say a Langley man died following a single-vehicle crash Monday night in Knott County.
Troopers with Kentucky State Police Post 13 Hazard say they received a 911 call around 8:02 p.m. reporting a crash on KY-80 in the Leburn community.
Investigators say a black Toyota Camry traveling west left the roadway, went over an embankment off the shoulder and rolled down the hillside.
Authorities say the driver, 68-year-old Keith Dingus of Langley, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene by the Knott County Coroner’s Office.
Troopers say two juvenile passengers were found inside the vehicle. Both were transported to University of Kentucky Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators say Dingus may have experienced a medical emergency before the crash. His body was taken to the Kentucky Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort for an autopsy, and toxicology results are pending.
Officials say the crash remains under investigation by Trooper Jody Sims.
