Lanes closed, 1 dead after wreck on I-64 in Bath Co.
BATH COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) -A two-vehicle accident on I-64in Bath Co. left one person dead, and sent two to the hospital Thursday morning.
The Bath Co. Coroner says the wreck involved a passenger car and a tractor trailer at mile marker 128-129 in I-64 westbound. Both lanes were closed for hours while crews were on the scene.
The coroner says the driver of the passenger car died in the crash. The victim hasn’t been identified pending notification of the family, but the coroner says he may be from Lexington.
A passenger in the car was air-lifted to UK hospital. No word on their condition.
The driver of the tractor trailer was taken to St. Claire Regional Medical Center.
Kentucky State Police and reconstruction units are currently working the accident scene.
One lane of westbound I-64 has been re-opened.
