Lane closures coming to West Maxwell Street for paving project next week

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A busy stretch of West Maxwell Street will have alternating lane closures next week as crews work to mill and pave the roadway.

According to city officials, the work will take place from Oliver Lewis Way to Plunkett Street beginning Monday, October 20, through Friday, October 24, between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. each day.

Access to homes and businesses will remain open throughout the project, but street parking will not be available.

The paving work follows a recently completed sanitary sewer project in the same area. City officials said the main sanitary sewer lines serving nearby homes and businesses were replaced as part of that earlier work.
