Lexington opens new winter shelter for people experiencing homelessness

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – The Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government is opening its new winter shelter for people experiencing homelessness.

According to city officials, the shelter will open tomorrow and is available to anyone in need of a warm, safe place to stay during the cold-weather season.

The new winter shelter is located at 1306 Versailles Road, though it is not easily visible from the street.

This opening comes as Lexington continues efforts to expand shelter capacity and provide additional resources for individuals and families facing homelessness.
