Ky Wildlife Center needs food donations
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) –The Kentucky Wildlife Center has ran out of food for the animals and employees are now having to use their own money to pay for it.
The center runs on donations and they say they’re in desperate need of food donations.
The orphaned raccoons eat dog food because it has the right balance of protein and vegetable matter, employees at the center say. Younger raccoons can eat cat food because they’re still growing and need more protein at that age.
The center is also in need of paper towels, bleach, laundry detergent, blankets, old towels, dog bowls, dog and toddler toys to help stimulate the animals’ minds.
The wildlife center director, Samantha Opp, says raccoons are often misunderstood and she hopes in showing their playful side at the center it will pull at people’s heartstrings to make them want to donate.
The center also has an Amazon Wishlist if anyone wanted to donate that way.
You can donate money online at www.kywildlife.org.
