KY teachers to be grand marshals of governor’s inauguration parade

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – Governor-elect Andy Beshear announced teachers in Kentucky will serve as grand marshals of the governor’s inauguration parade.

The parade will take place on December 10 in the state capitol.

Beshear says the move is an effort to show his respect for Kentucky teachers.

“In my first inauguration announcement, I want to show my appreciation for our public educators, who work tirelessly, every day to improve the lives of our children and lift up our communities, and that is why I am naming them inauguration parade grand marshals,” says Beshear.

Officials say additional official transition announcements are expected this week.
