KY Takes Back Your Unwanted Meds & Prescriptions

Prescription drug abuse is a big problem across the Commonwealth.

And if you have extra pills or meds sitting around, the state is happy to take them off your hands.

Kentucky took part Saturday in National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day.

It’s part of a push to help fight drug abuse and theft by giving people a safe place to drop off their extra medications.

Disposal sites in Lexington were among seventy set up throughout the state.

Almost 10,000 pounds of medications were turned in during last year’s event.
