KY 52 in Lee County to close for drainage pipe replacement June 19
JACKSON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Motorists who take KY 52 in Lee County will need to find an alternate route on Saturday, June 19. Due to the replacement of a drainage pipe, the road will be closed at mile point 20.2. This is near Monica, just west of the KY 2017 intersection. Travel between Jackson and Beattyville will be affected.
The road will be closed to all through traffic as work starts around 8 a.m. It should be completed by 4 p.m.
No marked detour will be posted, but travelers can use KY 11, KY 30 and KY 708 through Booneville and Lerose as an alternate route. Drivers could also use locally-maintained routes.
Close to 1,400 vehicles use this section of KY 52 every day. Lee County emergency vehicles use this route to get to the Kentucky River Medical Center hospital in Jackson.
If there is inclement weather, the closure will be postponed until another suitable date.
