FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. (WTVQ) – KY 1772, also known as Colfax Road, in Fleming County will undergo roadside repairs beginning June 14 which will require temporary daytime closures.
For around a week, the Kentucky Department of Highways crews and contractors will fix embankment failures through installing supporting T-rail at two locations.
One will be KY 1772 at milepoint 0.7-0.8, west of the Rowan County line. Between June 14 to around June 16 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., barricades will be put up at Spurlock Road and KY 211 in Rowan County. Only local traffic will be allowed past those points. Thru traffic cannot pass the work site.
The other location is KY 1772 at milepoint 3.9-4.0 around Stringtown. From about June 16 to June 18 around 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., barricades will be set at KY 111 and Story Branch Road only allowing local traffic through.
The goal is to have the work and daytime road closures take about one week. However, work could continue into the week of June 21 based on the weather. Closures and schedule changes will be made clear through use of electronic message boards.
Depending on the weather, road work schedules could change. Motorists should pay attention to all warning signs, slow down in work zones and be aware of workers and construction equipment while traveling.
