KU Power Outage In Woodford County
Kentucky Utilities reported a power outage in Woodford County earlier today.
The power went out around 7:40 a.m. for more than 3,400 customers in the area.
It happened west of US-60 along the Bluegrass Parkway and extended out into the county along Troy Pike, almost to Nonesuch.
A KU official said the drastic increase in power use due to the cold weather caused a substation to go down.
He said power has been restored to everyone except five people. The problem was a blown fuse on the transformer.
