KSU President Takes Pay Cut To Give Raises
One university president is voluntarily cutting his own salary so some of his employees can make more money.
KSU’s Raymond Burse will get 25% less income so 24 of his lowest paid employees like custodial staff and groundskeepers, can make $10.25 an hour
Some had been making as little as $7.25 the current federal minimum wage.
Burse, the interim president who took over in June, said it was easier for him to cover the $90,000 cost of the raises than to add another burden to the institution.
