KSU Class of 2020 to kick off Pay it Forward Frankfort event
FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – More than 250 Kentucky State University freshmen, faculty and staff will participate in service activities in the Frankfort community from 10:00 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Saturday, August 27. The special event kicks off the citywide Pay It Forward Frankfort.
KSU volunteers will meet at 9:45 a.m. in the lobby of Bradford Hall to choose one of six service sites. The sites and activities include painting playground equipment at one of two locations for the Housing Authority of Frankfort; staining the deck, rails and porch and power wash two neighborhood Habitat for Humanity homes; cleaning windows, landscape and power washing properties at the Franklin County Women’s Shelter or they could choose to paint more than 40 acrylic scenes on canvas to decorate selected campus venues.
Painting supplies, stain, and landscaping materials for several of the service projects are sponsored by the Housing Authority of Frankfort, Habitat for Humanity of Franklin County and the Facilities Department at Kentucky State University.
The community is encouraged to join KSU on Saturday and plan their own unsolicited acts of kindness for Pay it Forward Frankfort. Participants should document their service with photos and videos with #payitfwdfrankfort2016 on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Pay It Forward Frankfort ends Dec. 4.
