KSP: Woman tried to sell her child

HARTFORD, Ky. (WTVQ) – An Ohio County woman is accused of trying to sell her child.

Kentucky State Police say 34-year-old Crystal Smiley was arrested following a month-long human trafficking investigation that began with a call from social services.

Investigators say they were told Smiley was trying to sell her child to a family member.

She was taken into custody on Wednesday and charged with sale or purchase of a child for adoption and promoting human trafficking.
