KSP: Wayne County man faces additional charges in child exploitation case

SOMERSET, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Kentucky State Police say a Wayne County man already facing child sexual exploitation charges has now been indicted on additional charges after a juvenile victim came forward alleging rape.

According to a release from KSP, 25-year-old Jorge Martin Vasquez Jr. was initially arrested May 9 following an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation. Detectives said he was distributing sexually explicit videos of juveniles on social media. He was charged at that time with 20 counts each of possessing, distributing, and promoting sexual performance by a minor.

After the investigation continued, a juvenile victim was identified and interviewed, reporting an incident of rape in Pulaski County. KSP said Vasquez now faces additional charges there, including use of a minor under 16 in a sexual performance, promoting use of a minor electronically, third-degree rape, and distributing material portraying a minor.

Vasquez remains in the Wayne County Jail as the investigation continues and more charges are possible, KSP said.
