KSP: Truck driver killed on KY 92 in Whitley County

WHITLEY COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)-  State police say a truck driver was killed Thursday morning after a crash on KY 92 in Whitley County.

Troopers say 59-year-old James Gambrel of Woolum crossed the center line, and went off the road before coming to rest over an embankment.  Investigators say the truck was hauling 43,000 tons of coal, and some of it spilled in the accident.

State police say Gambrel was pronounced dead on scene. They say the slick, wet roads and medical conditions may have factored into the collision.  Troopers say Gambrel was not wearing a seat belt.
