KSP: Truck driver caught with missing girl from Michigan
LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A missing girl from Michigan was found safe Monday night traveling through Kentucky in a semi-truck on I-75 in Laurel County, according to State Police.
The truck driver was arrested and charged with Unlawful Transaction with a Minor and Possession of Marijuana, according to investigators.
KSP Post 11 in London was contacted by authorities in Michigan Monday evening and told a missing juvenile could be traveling through Kentucky in a semi-truck.
Troopers and Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officers began looking for the semi on I-75.
Trooper Jeremy Elliotte spotted the truck traveling south on I-75 near the 35 mile marker and initiated a traffic stop, according to KSP.
Investigators say the girl was in the semi, unharmed. Her age was not released.
The driver, 57-year old Robert Phillips, of Michigan, was arrested and lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
