KSP: Traffic stop leads to drug arrest in Whitley County
WHITLEY COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – State Police say after receiving a complaint about a reckless driver on I-75 in Whitley County on Wednesday, a traffic stop led to the arrest of a man on DUI and drug charges.
Investigators say 30-year old Dewayne T. Farmer of Richmond, had suspected methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and a stolen handgun in his car. State Police say he was arrested shortly after 2:00 a.m. and charged with DUI, Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree 2nd Offense, Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon, Receiving Stolen Property, Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, Operating a Motor Vehicle on a Suspended License and Resisting Arrest.
Farmer was arrested at the scene and lodged in the Whitley County Detention Center. The investigation continues, according to State Police.
