KSP: Suspect Swerved at Police Cruisers During Pursuit

LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police say a man is locked up after leading police on a chase along US 25 in the Pittsburg community of Laurel County.

Troopers say on Wednesday night at around 9:30 p.m., an officer attempted to stop a Honda Civic that had run a stop sign, but the driver, 19-year-old Travis Brock, sped up and took off southbound.

Investigators say Brock headed toward I-75, but then turned eastbound onto HWY 192, swerving his car at pursuing Troopers in an attempt to run them off the roadway.

Several miles later, police say Brock lost control of his car and hit a utility pole.

During the pursuit, officers say one trooper collided with a vehicle that pulled out in front of him near the intersection of KY HWY 192 and KY HWY 1006. The trooper wasn’t injured and the driver of the other vehicle was treated for minor injuries at the scene.

Brock was arrested and charged with fleeing or evading police, three counts of wanton endangerment, assault, and several other traffic charges. He was taken to the Laurel County Detention Center.
