KSP: Sex abuse suspect extradited from Philippines

HICKORY, Ky. (WTVQ) – A former Trigg County man who was in the Philippines is back in Kentucky to face sexual abuse charges.

The Kentucky State Police say they began an investigation in March 2017 into 39-year-old Richard M. Baker after receiving information he had sexually abused a child under 12 years of age while he lived in Trigg County.

Detectives discovered Baker was working overseas and a warrant was issued for him on May 16, 2018.

They say Baker was located in the Philippines and detained in February of 2019.

He was placed into the custody of the U.S. Marshall Service on April 18, 2019 and was flown back to the United States.

Baker is in the Christian County jail.
