Trooper rescues father, child from high waters in Pulaski Co.

LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ)A father and his daughter are safe thanks to the work of a Kentucky State Trooper who rescued them after they were stuck inside a vehicle in rising flood waters.

Police say Pulaski Co. 911 received a call around 2:45 a.m. Tuesday morning from the father, saying that he and his 3-year-old daughter were stranded in their vehicle in high water on Norwood Mount Zion Road.

According to KSP, Trooper Adam Childress was close to the area and went to help.  When he got there, police say he found the man and his daughter in the backseat, with the car on the verge of being overtaken by floodwaters.

Troopers say Childress waded out into the current and carried the child to safety, before returning for the father.

No injuries were reported in the incident.

Trooper Childress is a 5-year veteran with the Kentucky State Police.
