KSP: One killed in three-car collision in Washington County
SPRINGFIELD, Ky. (WTVQ) – Authorities say a three-vehicle collision killed one person in Washington County.
Kentucky State Police says the crash happened three miles south of Springfield on Tuesday at 12:31 p.m.
Troopers say 32-year-old Marrian Yocum, of Richmond, was traveling south on KY 55 when he lost control of his vehicle and side swiped a northbound car that was being driven by 60-year-old Mary Davies, of Perryville.
According to troopers, Yocum continued into the northbound lane and hit another car that was being driven by 32-year-old Scott Patten, of Springfield. Troopers say Patten was not wearing a seat belt and died at the scene.
Authorities say Yocum was sent to the University of Kentucky Medical Center with serious injuries. They say Davies was not injured.
