KSP names its civilian employee of year
FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) — A telecommunications shift supervisor in the Dry Ridge post has been named Kentucky State Police Civilian Employee of the Year.
Dacia Wood of Walton was recently honored along with two dozen other civilian KSP employees.
State police officials say Wood was recognized for excellence in performing her daily duties and for her service to others.
The agency says her actions last Dec. 23 demonstrate her commitment to others.
On that day, a woman came to the Dry Ridge post asking about the Shop with a Trooper program. The post had completed the holiday program, but Wood found out what assistance the woman needed.
Wood organized a last-minute collection among post employees. She then met the woman at a store, where they purchased a bike for the woman’s son and a coat for her daughter.
