KSP: Martin County triple shooting “not random”

WARFIELD, Ky. (WTVQ) – State Police say a triple shooting in Martin County that left two men dead and a woman fighting for her life, was not random.

Investigators say 20-year old Micah Sammons, of Kimper, and 26-year old Derek James, of Huddy, both died in the shooting March 23, 2018.

The lone survivor, 31-year old Amber Lockard, of Pike County, is in critical condition.

All three were found shot on a strip mine road in the Warfield-area of Martin County.

State Police say the motive is still unknown.  So far, no arrests have been made and no suspects have been named in the case.
