KSP: Marijuana brownies part of drug bust in Knox County
ARTEMUS, Ky. (WTVQ) – A traffic stop led to a drug bust in Knox County, which included the discovery of marijuana brownies, according to State Police.
Investigators say a KSP Detective saw a white 1999 Nissan quickly make a right turn at an intersection on KY 225 in the Artemus community Monday around 1:45 p.m.
The detective says the car went from the center line to the fog line several times before being pulled over.
During the traffic stop, the detective says he detected a strong odor of marijuana. He says the driver, 26-year old Joseph G. Wagers, of Corbin, admitted that marijuana and marijuana brownies were in the car.
State Police say a search of the car turned up more than 5-ounces of marijuana, digital scales and more than 5-pounds of marijuana brownies.
Investigators say Wagers admitted he was going to the Kay-Jay community to sell the marijuana.
Wagers was jailed on a half-dozen traffic and drug charges, according to KSP.
