KSP looking for person of interest in counterfeit money case in Kuttawa

LYON COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Troopers with Kentucky State Police Post 1 are asking for the public’s help identifying a person of interest connected to a counterfeit money investigation.

According to state police, the incident happened January 20 around 1:35 p.m. Central Time at a Wendy’s location in Kuttawa, where investigators say counterfeit cash was reportedly used.

Troopers say security footage shows a man with dark facial hair wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, khaki shorts, and a dark baseball-style hat.

Anyone who recognizes the individual or has information about the case is asked to contact KSP Post 1 at 270-856-3721 or submit a tip through the KSP tip line.

The investigation remains ongoing.
