KSP: Lexington man fatally shot in Lee County

BEATTYVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a Lexington man over the weekend in Lee County.

State police say they were called just before 10:30 a.m. on Saturday about a shooting at a home on High Point Road.

When police arrived, they say they found 34-year-old Jimmy L. Vanover dead in the home.

They say it appears he and another man got into a fight and Vanover was shot.

His body has been taken to the State Medical Examiner’s office for an autopsy.

Police say the man who shot Vanover was at the home when they arrived and that no charges have been filed against him at this time.

The investigation is ongoing.
